At the same time, in addition to the "Twelfth Five-Year" development plan for renewable energy, the National Energy Administration has also compiled various special "Twelfth Five-Year" plans for wind power, hydropower, solar power, geothermal energy, and ocean energy. By 2015, the grid-connected installed capacity of wind power will reach 100 million kilowatts, the annual power generation capacity will be 190 billion kWh, and the grid-connected installed capacity of solar power will reach 15 million kilowatts. During the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period, 200 energy demonstration counties and 100 new energy cities will be built. In the next step, my country will reform and improve the power market development mechanism. One of the most important measures is the establishment and implementation of a renewable energy power quota system. Simply put, it is to specify the proportion of renewable energy based on the total power consumption of each region. The standard assesses all parties in order to establish a sustainable and reliable market for renewable energy and promote the development of the renewable energy industry.
Although my country has made great achievements in the development of renewable energy, there is still a big gap between the technology and the entire industry level and the international advanced level. We must continuously improve the technological level and enhance the competitiveness of the entire industry.
We hope that after 2015, most renewable energy sources will be economically competitive, and large-scale development can be achieved without or relying on very few subsidies.
