The government-led "Golden Sun" demonstration project is expected to expand next year, adding 1.2 GW to the total scale of over 1.7 GW (ten thousand kilowatts) in 2012.

    It is understood that the Golden Sun Demonstration Project implemented since 2009 is a concrete action for China to cultivate strategic emerging industries, support the demonstration application of photovoltaic power generation technology in various fields and the industrialization of key technologies. It is planned to be within 2-3 years. The implementation is complete. In principle, the projects included in the Golden Sun Demonstration Project will be subsidized at 50% of the total investment in photovoltaic power generation systems and supporting power transmission and distribution projects, and 70% of the total investment in independent photovoltaic power generation systems in remote areas without electricity will be subsidized.

　　 For Chinese photovoltaic companies, the "Golden Sun Demonstration Project" is considered one of the most important keys to unlock the domestic photovoltaic market. Earlier news said that during the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period, the installed capacity of photovoltaic power generation was determined to be 21GW, and the newly-added photovoltaic power generation capacity in five years will be mainly concentrated in the two fields of "distributed photovoltaic power generation" and "Golden Sun Demonstration Project" .

　　 At present, while facing the US Department of Commerce's "dual reverse" investigation, Chinese photovoltaic companies may also face the "dual reverse" investigation from the European Union. This also forces Chinese companies to accelerate the development of the domestic market.
